The Amazing Netscape Fish Cam

Fish Tank

Here in JavaScript land at Netscape, we have a large fish tank with some cameras pointed at it. We're not exactly sure why, it just seemed like a fun thing to do. You can get a peek at the tank by clicking on the links below. The large pictures are 640x480 pixels, and will automatically refresh about once every 5 minutes. Small pictures are 320x200, and refresh every 15 seconds.

If you're interested in the history behind the Fish Cam, or how it works, check out the About Page.

If real fish are too old fashioned for your taste, you may appreciate our Dynamic HTML FishTank, which provides all the entertainment of a real fish tank, without the mess. In fact, these fish can even perform a Synchronized Swimming routine. Try that with a real tank.

Current fish

Angel
Here's our Angel Fish. He's a bit aggressive, we had to remove a smaller angel from the tank after this guy started to harass him.
Blue Surgeon
Our Blue Surgeon fish looking very bright against the black background.
Boxfish
This little boxfish is growing fast. He's the Puffer's only competition at feeding time. He changes his color from time to time too.
Clown Tiger
Our clown trigger is a bold little fish, though for a few weeks he slept a lot and didn't look well in general. He's much better now.
Clown Trigger2
Another view of the Clown Trigger.
Purple Mouth Eel
The Purple Mouth Eel and that blue guy race for food.
Puffer Fish
Everybody's favorite, the Puffer fish has the biggest personality, and appetite, in the tank. Real Fish Cam fans have been known to catch him puffed up some mornings.
Puffer
Puffer smiles for the camera again.
Puffer2
Puffer strikes a pose.
Blue Headed Wrasse
This Blue Headed Wrasse kinda reminds me of that Darth Maul character from Star Wars, Episode 1.
Huma-huma and Blue Headed Wrasse
The Huma-Huma and Blue Headed Wrasse seem to like to camera.
Anemone Clown
Last but not least, our Anemone Clown Fish.

Dearly Departed

Humahuma

Our humuhumunukunukuapua, pronounced humu-humu-nuku-nuku-apu-a'-a, (we just called him the Huma-Huma Trigger) was a fast little bugger, and quite colorful too. He passed away one night for no apparent reason, no foul play is suspected.

Thanks for visiting the Amazing Netscape Fish Cam!
